Service Description

STARTTS (Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors) is dedicated to assisting refugees navigating multiple levels of trauma, affecting every facet of their lives. Their comprehensive services include culturally sensitive counselling and therapy, group activities, psychiatric assessment and treatment, physical therapies such as physiotherapy, therapeutic massage, and acupuncture, as well as pain management and exercise groups. In addition, STARTTS provides English classes and organises activities tailored for young people, including camps, excursions, and Capoeira sessions. They also offer referral and case management, community liaison and consultation, community development projects, and training for mainstream service providers. With a diverse and multidisciplinary team, STARTTS is committed to delivering culturally appropriate services, promoting healing, and facilitating integration within the community.
